Letter to Henry Lee [manuscript], 1830 October 25.

Marshall writes in detail about the representation of the Federalists in the correspondence of Thomas Jefferson recently published by Jefferson's grandson. He discusses his error concerning the French Revolution, aspersions on Marshall, and Jefferson's political ideas ending "I have never believed firmly in his infallibility. I have never thought him a particularly wise sound and practical statesman."
